INTERIMS
- Members
have the right to request union representation when being given an interim.
Some supervisors will try to deny that right.
That’s when their Weingarten Rights come into play.
- Some
supervisors will talk to you and the Union Representative before the interim
interview if you have a good relationship with them.
You may be able to get the interim withdrawn and with your commitment
as the Union Representative talk to the member and straighten out the
problem. This does happen.
- TAKE
NOTES. YOU AND THE MEMBER TAKE
ACCURATE NOTES AND CAPTURE AS MUCH OF THE DISCUSSION AS POSSIBLE.
- Unfortunately
most of your interims will result in filing a grievance.
